MEET JENNIFER KRATKY

As a 5th generation Texan who grew up on a rural cattle ranch, I learned from an early age the importance of family, community, honesty, and hard work. My husband, Brent, and I met in college while both earning degrees in Finance, got married (19 wonderful years ago!) and dedicated our careers to serving our nation’s Veterans. Brent works at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center, and I spent many years working as a corporate financial analyst at USAA Financial Services. We are the proud parents of two children. Our oldest attends Tomball High School and is very active in FFA, orchestra and swim team. Our youngest is a dedicated baseball player and will attend Tomball West High School after it opens. We are excited to be both Cougars AND Tigers in our household!

Coming from a large extended family that includes many teachers, I have always been passionate about education. For 20 years now, I have volunteered for a large Houston-based scholarship foundation, interviewing hundreds of high school graduates from around the state of Texas and serving on the advisory board. Locally, I served on the Tomball ISD School Health Advisory Council for two years and was elected as a delegate to the Republican Party of Texas State Convention (2020, 2022 and 2024) for my demonstrated advocacy in public education.

Our family’s faith is at the heart of everything we do. We are active members of Tomball Bible Church and have spent years volunteering in various capacities, from teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School to mentoring children in literacy and organizing disaster relief. My appreciation of our nation’s Christian heritage, as well as my genuine love for the people of Tomball, inspire my enthusiasm to serve future generations through education.

Strong schools are the foundation of a strong community. That’s why I am committed to ensuring that our schools continue to uphold the values we hold dear and provide the best possible education for our children. As a member of the Tomball ISD School Board, I will work tirelessly to represent the interests of our families and ensure that every child in our district has the opportunity to succeed.

Yours Truly,

Jennifer Kratky

PRIORITIES

Education_Safety.png

Focus on Academics & Student Safety

We must continue to keep our focus on academic rigor and preparation for good careers. This is where Tomball shines, because it’s valued in the homes of our wonderful families! Also, parents need to feel that their kids are safe at school. We must acknowledge that bullying is still a problem in our district, and work to enforce zero tolerance on bullying.

Transparency.png

Champion Transparency & Parent Input

Discussions between board members should occur openly in public meetings, because voters deserve to know how and why important district decisions are made. Tomball ISD should also offer more fiscal transparency, like an online searchable check register, which is already offered by the City of Tomball and many other A-rated school districts. Caring school board trustees should provide opportunities for the people they serve to engage with them in an informal setting, such as townhall meetings, constituent coffees, or phone call appointments. This would ensure that trustees are “in touch” with the perspectives of parents and taxpayers.

ValueTeachers.png

Value Our Teachers

Tomball has been blessed with wonderful, experienced teachers. They, too, should be provided a forum to share their concerns and ideas for practical solutions. We also need to pay them competitively, remove unnecessary tasks from their workload and make sure we hire the right administrators to lead and support them.

KeepTomball.png

Keep Tomball, Tomball

Our school board is duty-bound to assert the wishes and values of the local community. National trends in education may not always be the right fit for Tomball. It will require increased vigilance and courage to continue to protect our hometown district from getting swept up in the progressive current.

TermLimits.png

Honor Term Limits

School board members should limit themselves to two consecutive terms (8 years) of service, as our hero George Washington did. This would prevent burnout and ensure that parents of currently enrolled students have a voice on the school board. Retired board members could continue to serve a vital role as mentors to the next generation of leadership.
